After having spent over 10 years combined in health and nutrition counseling, we witnessed first-hand both how confusing the swarm of health and nutrition messages can be as well as how damaging under/overeating, 'yo-yo dieting' and fads are to the hundreds of clients we counseled.
The term fokus originated from the wish to focus and spotlight evidence-based approaches to achieve optimal health and wellness through ultimate personalization.
Our goal is to focus on the science and block the noise of fad diets, ultimately breaking the cycle of serial dieting and saving each client hundreds spent on heavily-marketed useless products.
Through extensive research- including trial and error- we have realized the one resounding hallmark of successful weight management is to thoroughly assess, measure, and test a variety of factors before devising and providing a health program. Further, we believe each client should be empowered through knowledge and skill-building to sustain the behavior and dietary changes.
